James Robinson writes from the nation's capital in Washington D.C. Jim lives in the Northern Virginia area. Take I-66 west from the I-495 Washington D.C. Beltway. Go west on I-66 to Jim's place in Fairfax or keep going to the Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge mountain range.

Jim works for one of the world's largest financial services companies. This global financial services company offers a variety of products and services, including life insurance, mutual funds, annuities, pensions, retirement services, asset management, securities brokerage, banking and trust services, real estate brokerage franchises and relocation services.

Jim currently contributes to the management group as Manager of Agency Training for one of the company's largest territorial agency serving Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C Territory.

Jim supervises the licensing, training and coaching processes for new and experienced Financial Services Professionals.

Jim creates and manages a diverse multi-cultural learning environment in the agency's offices at Baltimore Maryland, Bethesda Maryland, Tysons Corner Virginia, Richmond Virginia and Norfolk and Chesapeake Virginia.

On any given day, Jim's manages the Federal securities licensing processes including the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Securities licensing process.

Jim's manages the Life and Health licensing process as well. All licensing activities are done in a multicultural and richly diverse environment. Jim also serves as a recruiter for Financial Services Professionals.

Jim has a Bachelor Degree in Economics/Marketing from DePaul University as well as a Masters of Science In Financial Services from The American College.

Jim is also credentialed. He holds the Registered Life Underwriter-RHU, Charter Life Underwriter-CLU, Chartered Financial Consultant-ChFC, and Certified Financial Planner-CFP. Jim is a passionate advocate of the CFP program and has taught the CFP certificate program at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta Georgia.

Jim currently teaches the CFP certificate program through the American College Horizons program. He has also served as Technology Committee Chairperson for the Financial Planning Association of Georgia.

Jim's 20 years plus sales and financial planning experience includes serving as agent, planner, stockbroker and sales manager.

Jim has provided financial service practitioners support for over 20 years. His past experience also includes serving as:

  • Regional Sales Vice President for John Hancock Financial Institutions Group
  • Regional Life and Annuity Consultant for New York Life
  • Qualified Plans Specialist for The Equitable (AXA)

  • Advanced Sales Specialist for Mutual Funds Sales
  • Mutual of Omaha Fund Management Company
  • Training Consultant for Mutual and United of Omaha Companies.

Jim believes in giving back to the community. He participates in minority and multicultural recruiting at colleges with high concentrations of minority and multicultural graduates.

Jim has served as Finance Committee Chairperson of a large United Methodist Church and has served as a District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts Of America. Jim prefers to golf on his days away from the office. He also is the first to admit that he is not as good as Tiger Woods. Deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean is Jim's ideal vacation. Jim loves the Caribbean Islands, particularly Tortola, Virgin Gorda, St. Kitts & Nevis.
