76 percent of voters approved $18 million to renovate the Ames Public Library in Iowa. The referendum required 60 percent of the votes to pass and it blew past that requirement by a large margin on Tuesday.
Foot traffic to the library had almost doubled since their last renovation in 1985. The expansion will allow the library to modernize the facility and keep up with the increase in visitors.
This is exciting news that over 3/4 of the voters in Ames approved of expanding and renovating their library. It’s great to hear that support for library renovation projects is so strong…at least in Iowa.
