Christmas tree made of books at a California college library

December 24, 2011

We single out the University of San Francisco as our favorite out of all the California colleges this time of year.  The Gleeson Library at USF created a Christmas tree in 2009 that we are big fans of.

The staff there decided to stack green National Union Catalog books from the library collection to make a Christmas tree.  They added some ornaments, paper snowflakes, and a paper star to decorate the tree.  They’ve been making one every year since 2009.  This year the tree was 9 feet 9 inches tall and they even strung lights on it.

Merry Christmas!
